I am Valerie Dent, an Acting Teacher and Actress and I provide unique personalised professional acting classes in London, (Liverpool Street) and Sussex (Brighton/Lewes). I have over 25 years experience as a professional actress and qualified acting teacher.
Acting Teacher, Teaching Acting Classes
My classes have been devised by myself and are for beginners, intermediate and performance students. Each level provides students a chance to learn and develop the skills of acting at their own pace.
Acting for Beginners
This course is aimed at people with little experience, and can be transferable skills for business and presentation skills too.
Intermediate Acting Courses
The intermediate course explores acting skills for performance and you will have a chance to perform scenes to an invited audience in a studio space in your chosen area.
Performance-Putting into Practice What You Have Learned
The performance group takes it even further and you will have a chance to perform at a studio venue for two evenings in a short play. This 10 week course usually perform at The Rag Factory, E1.
Overall the courses will teach you skills such as voice, movement, imagination, acting techniques (Stanislavski, Meisner, Laban, Chekhov, Method) and I use my own experience as a performer for stage and audience awareness skills. Presentation Skills Training Course
I have also developed during my years of teaching a course for presentation skills and I have worked for various companies and individuals. I focus on the acting techniques and I have developed a fun but educational course that helps people to express themselves while presenting to a business audience.
One to one tuition
I am a LAMDA teacher and examiner. I have helped students achieve high grades in their exams and many students have gone onto study acting and to find places at drama schools.
